Surrey Autos began as a small independent workshop with a simple promise: be the garage we’d want to use ourselves. Most of our first customers were neighbours in KT8 who were tired of two things — dealer invoices that needed a second mortgage, and backstreet quotes that changed once the car was on the ramp. We set out to be the third option: proper work, proper parts, a fixed quote before a spanner is lifted.

Today we run a DVSA-approved MOT lane testing Classes 4, 5 and 7, full service and repair bays, dealer-level diagnostic equipment, a mobile mechanic covering driveways across Surrey, and a recovery truck that brings breakdowns straight back to our own ramp. The business has grown; the phone is still answered by someone who can actually tell you what’s wrong with your car.

What “family-run” actually means

You’ll see the phrase above a lot of garage doors. For us it means three concrete things:

• Plain English, not jargon — we explain what failed, why, and what happens if you leave it. You decide with the facts, not under pressure.
• Quote first, always — written and itemised before work starts. If we find something extra mid-job, you get a photo and a price before we touch it.
• Long-term customers over one-off invoices — we’d rather tell you a repair can wait a year than sell it to you today. That’s why people come back.

Where we’re headed

The cars are changing and so are we. Hybrids and EVs are a growing share of every street in Surrey, and our technicians are qualified for high-voltage work — servicing, diagnostics and brakes on electrified cars are routine here. On the business side, we’re building out fleet servicing for local trades and operators: priority turnaround, Class 7 MOTs in-house, account billing, and collection from your yard.
